The Courthouse Cheshire Wedding Photography
The best things about being Cheshire wedding photographers are working with lovely couples like Sarah and Gareth and getting to see some amazing wedding venues which is why we always love returning to shoot The Courthouse Cheshire wedding photography.
The Courthouse Cheshire is one of the most iconic buildings in South Cheshire and is located in the centre of the pretty town of Knutsford. This former court has been refurbished to emulate the buildings rich history and grandeur style and is now a stunning restaurant and wedding venue.
On the day we woke to full sunshine which held out all day. We caught up with Sarah who was getting ready in one of The Courthouse’s beautiful suites. Her bridal party consisted of her mum Sue, sister/bridesmaid Lynsey, Gareth’s mum Sue and Gareth’s sister Sally.
Laidback Sarah operated an open door policy for her bridal preparations telling friends they’re welcome to pop in and say hi before the wedding. This attitude and approach gave Sarah’s bridal preparations such a friendly and easy going atmosphere.
Now we love a ‘father sees the bride moment’ but Sarah confessed that as her Dad was wearing a kilt she got a ‘bride see’s the father moment’ as well which was really sweet. Alan, you looked great!
Gareth also got ready at The Courthouse but he and his grooms’ party then went over the road to the pub to meet up Gareth’s friends. The grooms’ party consisted of best man Jordan and Sarah’s dad Alan.

Sarah looked amazing in her dress. The delicate lace detail, low scooped back and mermaid cut made her look incredible and was completed by a pair of to-die-for Jimmy Choo shoes.
The ceremony was held in The Moneypenny Suite. A gorgeous room with large windows allowing natural light to flood in. (Cheshire wedding photographers are obsessed with natural light!)
Flowers on the day looked lovely and were kindly done by a friend of the family.
After the ceremony there was a drinks reception and we had the chance to take some fantastic shots of Sarah, Gareth, their wedding party and their guests around the steps, courtyard and gardens of The Courthouse.
We then quickly took Sarah and Gareth off over the road to a little cobble street, this is where we did their portraits. On the way back all the traffic stopped so the couple could walk across a busy road and we managed to snap it. It was our favourite image of the day. Here take a look!

The wedding reception started with traditional bagpipes to welcome guests. Now, we have to talk about the speeches. As if seeing Gareth, Jordan and Alan in full gown and wig to deliver their speeches wasn’t funny enough. Gareth (who works in television) managed to get hold of some Jeremy Kyle cards (from the show) for his speech notes. We love these little quirks at weddings as they always tell us something of the couple’s personalities. The speeches of course went down a storm.
Evening guests began to arrive and celebrations started with a romantic first dance. It wasn’t long before they were joined on the dancefloor.
Our cue to leave is usually when the serious dance moves come out and Sarah, Gareth and their guests were definitely up for a party. So as the party moved up a gear we took our last image and left them to it.
We really enjoyed shooting Sarah and Gareth’s stylish, fun and laidback wedding day. Congratulations you two for getting married and thank you for allowing us to tell the story of your amazing day.
