The Eden Family chose Walkden Gardens in Sale for their 30-minute mini family photoshoot.
Walkden Gardens in Sale is 5 acres in size and was inspired by the famous 20th century garden at Hidcote Manor in Gloucestershire. It is characterised by long alleys with vistas, a series of smaller garden rooms like the Japanese Garden and the Fuchsia Garden. It also has the impressive Theatre Lawn where people can enjoy outdoor productions and screenings.
It’s always a good idea to invest in keepsakes when your family are young. Pre-school age children develop and grow so quickly so stopping to capture a snapshot in time is something families never regret.

This oasis in the heart of Sale was the perfect place for the family to unwind. The beautifully maintained gardens are surrounded by tall beech hedges and a wealth of different trees that do a great job of blocking out the noise of the traffic.
The children loved the freedom of running around and exploring this natural playground.
Relaxed children always means relaxed parents so I was able to capture the Eden family looking so rested, natural and relaxed which resulted in some images that I know they are really thrilled with.
And as you can see from these images, nothing looks posed or forced. I just captured a young family enjoying one another’s company.
I loved the way the children interacted with one another. Is there anything better in the world than having a big sister to look out for you. Walkden Gardens are so magical for little ones because there’s so much to feed curious minds. It feels like a magical garden from a classic children’s book.
And when you run out of things to explore there’s always Daddy to throw you in the air, or some stones to explore in the Japanese garden. In the midst of all the fun, I even managed to get some lovely romantic images of just mum and dad.

On the day the light was perfect (us Cheshire photographers are obsessed with light) and it was amazing how many fantastic images I was able to get in such a short amount of time. Add to that a happy, easy to work with and photogenic family, and I had the perfect ingredients for a family photoshoot in Walkden Gardens.
