A Large Family Portrait at Gawthorpe Hall

Being family photographers is fantastic and to be asked by the Stobbs family to do another photoshoot for them was super exciting.  It’s so lovely to be asked to photograph a family more than once, it means they loved their previous memories and wanted more.

We shot Sarah & Jonathan’s wedding years ago and now with the arrival of their little one it was only a matter of time before we saw them again.  Sarah purchased a bespoke 30min photoshoot voucher for her mum Wendy as a gift, so after a few discussions with Wendy on the location, it was agreed that Gawthorpe Hall was it.

This amazing location with its Elizabethan country house situated on the banks of the River Calder was stunning, as we only had 3omins and it was January and a bit colder than we’d have liked, we got straight to work.  Using the large steps to create a few large group shots with elegance.  It’s always hard when you have larger groups, not to make them look static or posed so we do encourage larger families to be themselves.  As you will see from the photos they certainly had some fun.

During the shoot we did ask if Wendy wanted smaller groups and some more natural ones of the grandkids so with the time we had left we had a little fun with some smaller groups.
