We love a Town Hall wedding, and Grade I listed Liverpool Town Hall, is one of our favourites.  Teri and Mat (not a typo – he’s Mat with one t!) chose this iconic city centre building for their intimate summer wedding ceremony.

We always love returning to capture Liverpool Town Hall wedding photography, as it’s simply one of the finest remaining Georgian Town Halls in England.  It’s striking architecture, grand entrance and opulent interiors give it a vibe that’s just perfect for wedding ceremonies.  Teri and Mat chose well!

On the day, we caught up with Mat and his grooms party that consisted of him, his best man, his three groomsmen and dog Walter.  Mat and the boys all looked really smart in traditional black tie, and even Walter had made an effort, managing a bow tie and a button hole!

We took some great images of them on the imposing front steps of the Town Hall, as well as

the feature staircase inside.  Here, take a look!

The boys then headed inside for the ceremony.

Teri then arrived looking absolutely stunning.  She wore a beautiful off the shoulder dress with a sweetheart neckline that skimmed her slender frame and kicked out at the bottom into a mermaid cut flare.  It gave her the most amazing silhouette in all of our images.  She teamed it with a stunning bouquet of white roses and an elegant veil at the back.

We captured Teri ascending the dramatic staircase perfectly and stopped to get a great image of her half way up the stairs.  The image really showcasing just how stunning she looked in her dress.  Teri had two bridesmaids who both looked elegant in black dresses with simple bouquets of white roses.

The wedding ceremony was held in Liverpool Town Hall’s Small Ballroom.  This sumptuous setting has three feature crystal chandeliers, ornate plasterwork on the walls and ceiling, feature fireplaces and a minstrel’s gallery.  The perfect balance of grand and intimate, it was perfect for Teri and Mat’s small wedding ceremony.

Teri was walked down the aisle by her dad.  And we captured the emotional moment when Mat got his first glimpse of Teri.  There followed a beautiful ceremony that included a lovely reading.

Another thing we love about shooting wedding photography at Liverpool Town Hall, is the light.  Large feature windows throw tons of light into the spaces, that we play with to create even more beautiful images.  The black and white images of Teri and Mat’s ceremony were just stunning and look like something out of professional bridal photoshoot.  Here, take a look!

At the end of the ceremony, Teri and Mat walked back down the aisle a married couple to applause from their guests.

As guests happily mingled and chatted, we took our chance to whisk Teri and Mat away from them for a few minutes for a mini photoshoot inside the Town Hall.  These two were so photogenic it was like working with a couple of models.  Again, the impressive staircase and ornate domed ceiling provided the perfect backdrop and we loved the images we got of them on the iconic balcony where the Beatles were famously photographed.

When we were done, we walked back down the staircase to be greeted by all of Teri and Mat’s guests and ended with some great group images of the entire wedding party.

Outside, Teri and Mat were reunited with Walter the dog, so we took some family portraits of the three of them.  As well as some more of Teri, Mat and the wedding party with the stunning Town Hall making a fantastic backdrop.  The images looked amazing!

Everybody then walked to The Florist Bar and Restaurant for the wedding meal.  Liverpool city centre weddings are always so fun because the wedding party often walk between their ceremony and reception.  And the lovely people of Liverpool always stop to congratulate them.  It always adds a really special element to city weddings.

The Florist certainly lives up to its name, as it’s filled with the most stunning floral displays inside its beautiful light contemporary interiors.  Consistently voted as one of the most beautiful and Instagram-able restaurants in the UK.  It was the perfect location for Teri and Mat’s wedding meal.

Tables had been dressed exquisitely with crisp white linen, with pretty floral arrangements in white with green foliage and lines of elegant candles.  We got some great images of Teri and Mat arriving.  Again, more beautiful staircases (these two certainly got their steps in on their wedding day!)

Wedding photography at The Florist Bar and Restaurant

 Over the meal there were some very well received speeches.  Mat’s was sincere and emotional, his best mans included some embarrassing pictures of Mat as a child that had everyone in stitches.  So, one way or another, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

As the afternoon unfolded, pretty much the entire wedding took their turn to try out the pretty floral swing seat.  Boys, we’re surprised it’s still intact!

But the celebrations didn’t end there.  Everybody then headed to Frederiks Bar for drinks and we go some great images of Mat, his best man and Walter the dog making their way there.

Located between the cathedrals on Liverpool’s iconic hope Street in the Georgian quarter of the city, is Frederiks Bar.  This stylish bar is perfect for wedding receptions.  It has full AV, a cinema screen, a rectangle of comfy sofas surrounding a roaring fire and an area for dancing.

Everything Teri and Mat could need for an epic wedding celebration.

With evening guests arriving, it was time for us to leave these guys to it.  We had the best time capturing Teri and Mat’s gorgeous Liverpool Town Hall wedding.  A gorgeous day, at some iconic Liverpool locations, for a lovely couple.
