Laura & Stuart’s Cheshire Farm DIY Wedding

As experienced Cheshire wedding photographers we are lucky enough to frequently shoot Farm wedding photography in Cheshire. The sun shone for Laura and Stuart’s day and we got there nice and early to make sure we captured every moment of it.

We caught up with Laura who was getting ready at her family home Yew Tree Lodge. It’s always lovely when brides get to get ready in the family home. It always creates a really cosy and personal vibe on the morning of the wedding. Laura was in good spirits with her army – we mean – bridal party around her that consisted off her mum Jane, and bridesmaids Rebecca, Emma, Zara, Victoria, Julia and Clare (we loved the robes ladies!) as well as her make up artist from Perfection by Victoria and her hair stylist from NE Hair.

Laura looked stunning in her elegant dress that had a great fishtail shape and train that gave her a gorgeous silhouette. Laura was the happiest of brides and beamed all day (making the job of this Cheshire wedding photographer so much easier!) Bridesmaids wore pretty fitted lavender dresses and flowers were elegant and simple white bouquets with green foliage and were the creation of Flowers by Ruth.

We also caught up with Stuart and his grooms party who all looked resplendent in full tails with lilac ties to match the bridesmaids. Stuart’s grooms party consisted of Rich, Dell, Will, Callum, Marv and Mike. We got some fun images of the boys in the garden including their additional member in the form of the family dog. Who was so adorable that he (and his rather tired looking football) warranted an image of their own!

Natural Farm Wedding Photography in Cheshire

The wedding ceremony was held at St Boniface Church in the picturesque village of Bunbury. This 14^th century Grade I listed building is recorded in the National Heritage List for England and remains a very handsome building to this day.

Laura travelled in style with her dad in a beautiful vintage car.

There were a whopping 185 guests in attendance for the ceremony. And it was lovely to see such a gathering after the unusual times we have all endured. The ceremony was beautiful and we were able to capture some really special moments with both colour and black and white images. Afterwards there was a fun confetti moment outside the church before everybody headed to Yew Tree Farm for the reception.

At Yew Tree Farm, a luxury marquee had been erected on the lawn just outside the farmhouse and it looked amazing. It had chandeliers, its own bar, elegant ceiling drapes and a chequerboard dancefloor. On arrival guests enjoyed a drinks reception and we took the chance to get some great images of the wedding party in front of a pretty rose arch.

Laura and Stuart were rapturously welcomed to their wedding reception and Laura’s dad started proceedings with a welcome speech followed by grace which was said by Laura’s godmother Marion. Everybody then enjoyed a delicious wedding breakfast provided by the clever team at Jane K Smith caterers. With speeches by Stuart and best man Rich happening between courses. All of the speeches were very well received.

After the meal, as guests happily chatted, drank and mingled we quickly whisked Laura and Stuart away for a mini photoshoot in the farm’s pretty gardens and got some romantic portrait images that we know Laura and Stuart are thrilled with. After a few minutes we returned them to their guests many of whom were enjoying the farm’s gardens and soaking up the sunshine on this beautiful day.

Experienced Cheshire Farm Wedding Photographers

The evening reception saw the tally of guests shoot up to 300. Which is another reason why we like farm weddings in Cheshire. A marquee wedding on your own land isn’t priced per head so is ideal for larger weddings. And with no neighbours to worry about you can party as loud and as late as you want!

Evening celebrations started with Laura and Stuart wowing everybody with their first dance to musical accompaniment from their wedding band High Frequency who after the first dance filled the dancefloor with rock, indie and hi-end pop classics.

Laura and Stuart’s guests were definitely up for a party and it wasn’t long before there were some serious shapes being cut. High Frequency filled the dancefloor, and after them DJ Josh Jacobs made sure it stayed that way.

We loved photographing Laura and Stuart’s traditional farm wedding in Cheshire. A fun day full of love and laughter for this lovely pair.
