One of the best things about capturing wedding photography in Cheshire is getting to return to be Nunsmere Hall wedding photographers, Shiv and Toby chose the perfect venue for their Spring wedding.

On the day we got there early so we could catch up with Shiv and her bridal party who were getting ready in Nunsmere Hall’s beautiful bridal suite. Shiv’s bridal party consisted of her, her mum Gita, her sister-in-law Laura, her cousins Sonal and Nina and her sweet four-year-old niece Mia. Shiv was also the very capable hands of make-up artist Emma and hair stylist Tallulah both from the very talented team at Absolutely Flawless.

Nunsmere Hall is a beautiful Edwardian house bult in 1900 and set in the tranquil oasis that is the Delamere Forest. Its stunning forest location is framed by a 60-acre lake that combined with the beautiful architecture and award-winning gardens give us an endless supply of beautiful backdrops in our images when we shoot wedding photography at Nunsmere Hall.

And it’s not just the exterior that impresses. Its sumptuous interiors effortlessly blend traditional with modern comfort creating a charming, elegant and timeless vibe perfect for a wedding.

Shiv looked amazing in a beautiful bespoke Indian wedding gown that she bought from Seema M bridal. It was beautifully embroidered and Shiv complemented it with traditional henna on her hands and exquisite jewellery including a beautiful maang tikka that Shiv wore on her forehead. She looked amazing and was walked through the garden to the ceremony by her parents. With young Mia out in front performing her flower girl duties very diligently.

Toby and his grooms party wore smart petrol blue suits.

The outdoor western style ceremony was held on the lawn outside the country house was very personal and heartfelt. Afterwards as guests happily mingled and chatted there was the chance to capture some great images, some formal and some candid, of Shiv, Toby and their guests.

We then moved onto the traditional Hindu ceremony which started excitedly with Toby and the guests being led to the ceremony by a drummer. This is known as the Baraat. The wedding party then undertook lots of traditional Hindu wedding rituals including Toby smashing a clay pot with his foot to demonstrate his ability to overcome obstacles in his married life. And Toby being welcomed by Shiv’ family by having a tilak applied to his head. There followed a full traditional Hindu wedding ceremony in the Mandap complete with all the blessings and traditions. It was a joy to capture every moment.

Afterwards everybody enjoyed a drinks and canape reception as guests soaked up the spring sunshine and enjoyed milling around the beautiful gardens and grounds of Nunsmere Hall.

The wedding reception was held in Nunsmere Hall’s magnificent marquee which opened in 2020 and is simply stunning. It’s starlit ceiling, bespoke mood lighting, dance floor, and private bar created the perfect environment for an epic wedding celebration.

Speeches took place before dinner and were delivered by Shiv, by her dad Bharak and by best man Ben. All were very well received. Food and entertainment on the day were provided by Coriander Group, caterers and events company who specialise in Indian weddings. These guys really know what they’re doing and the food was as you would expect absolutely delicious.

Evening celebrations started with the cutting of a gorgeous three-tiered naked wedding cake, made by Sarah of Sarah’s cakes, before Shiv and Toby took the dancefloor for a romantic first dance to live musical accompaniment by wedding band ‘Func on the Rocks’

It wasn’t long before they were joined on the dancefloor as their guests were really up for a party. And it was the images of everybody partying that were the perfect ones to close the story of Shiv and Toby’s Day.

A gorgeous, fun, fusion wedding at a stunning Cheshire wedding venue for this lovely couple.
