The Stunning Park House Barn Lake District
We always love returning to shoot Park House Barn wedding photography. Jen and Matt chose the perfect venue for their hot summer wedding, the barn is set in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside close to the sea.
On the day we arrived early at a little cottage in Kendal where Jen was getting ready. She was in safe hands with her bridal party around her attending to her needs. The party consisted of her mum, maids of honour Louise and Emma and bridesmaids Charlotte and Paige.
Jen looked amazing in her Allure bridal dress that had the most stunning lace detail, an elegant scooped back shape and a train that gave the most perfect silhouette in all of our images of her. Coupled with hair and make-up done by Gemma Louise Smith Jen looked simply stunning.
Now I must mention the boys. Matt and his grooms’ party looked resplendent in very smart brown check suits that worked so perfectly with the farm setting. The grooms party consisted of Matt, Best man Dan and ushers Al, Ryan and Chris.
Now there are so many reasons why we love doing Park House Barm wedding photography, one of the main ones is that it is such a versatile space allowing couples to have their wedding done their way. Park House Barm allocated one of their fields for Jen and Matt’s guests to glamp. It was fantastic to see the row of bell tents erected and ready for guests. Some of the guests that stayed the eve of the wedding said that it was one of the coldest summer evenings on record but trust me when I say the day was hot hot hot.

It’s always great to work with other professionals in the wedding industry and this the case with Adam McGrath who was there to shoot a wedding film for Jen and Matt.
The ceremony took place in the 16th century half-cruck barn with its original beams and chandeliers it is charming, rustic and cosy all at the same time. The barn had been beautifully dressed for the occasion by Emma Jane Events.
After the ceremony there was a great confetti moment before Jen, Matt and their guests all enjoyed a drinks reception on the terrace. It was a chance to soak up the sun and take in the magnificent views of the Lake District. We took the chance to take Matt and Jen around the grounds of Park House Farm to get some great portrait images of them. I loved the shots we did in the bell tent. Here take a look!
The wedding breakfast was provided by Bespoke Catering in Cumbria and speeches were delivered and rapturously received by Matt, by Jen’s father and by best man Dan.

Now Jen, Matt and their guests were definitely up for a party. They’d hired The Majestics Band who accompanied Jen and Matt for their first song and soon after had the dancefloor packed where many remained all night, breaking only to visit the lovely people at the pizza oven that Jen and Matt had hired for the evening. (An inspired choice!)
The image of Jen, Matt and their guests all cutting shapes on the dancefloor was our cue to take our leave. A charming, rustic and stylish wedding for this lovely couple.
