Radisson Blu Weddings Manchester | Mia + Kevin

Getting to Video & Photography Radisson Blu Hotel Manchester

Mia and Kevin’s Radisson Blu wedding was a delight to shoot. But we’ll get back to why we love doing wedding photography at Radisson Blu in a minute. Let’s start at the beginning of Mia and Kevin’s day.

Having two of us is a real benefit when shooting weddings as it means we can be at two places at once. This enabled us to capture both Mia and Kevin getting ready for the ceremony. Mia got ready at her childhood home (there’s something very special about preparing for your wedding day in the house you grew up in!)

Now before we talk about Mia’s bridal party you need to know there were three Hannah’s (it’s not a typing error on our part). So here we go. Mia’s bridal party consisted of maid of honour Niamh, Hannah (sister in law), bridesmaids Hannah, Hannah, Lydia, Lily and Ruby. Flower girl Orla and Mia’s step dad David (who was heavily outnumbered by females, half of them called Hannah!)

It rained nearly all day but that did nothing to dampen anybody’s spirits. This lot were fizzing with excitement!  Kevin’s preparations were a little more low key but he did have best Rubz on hand if anything last minute was needed.

Mia looked stunning in her dress from Agape bridal boutique that was complimented by a full veil giving her a really romantic fairy tale bride look. With hair by Hair Fantasy and make-up by Chloe Evans Mia looked amazing.

The ceremony was held at the Roman Catholic St Hugh of Lincoln Church in Stretford, Manchester. An interesting building with amazing stained glass windows. Mia arrived in an impressive imperial landaulette wedding car.

As the weather was still very wet we took some images inside the church. Now churches are often dark spaces but the modern design and stained glass windows in St Hugh of Lincoln church gave us lots of fantastic natural light to work with (us Manchester wedding photographers are always bleating on about natural light!)

Mia, Kevin and their guests then headed to Radisson Blu for the reception.   Built in one of Manchester’s most beautiful buildings, The Free Trade Hall, The luxurious five star Radisson Blue Edwardian is a fantastic wedding venue. Luxurious and romantic with stunning art and furnishings.   It was the perfect choice for Mia and Kevin’s wedding.

On arrival we got the chance to take some great images of Mia, Kevin and their wedding party and guests. Being such a beautiful building and having such amazing décor means that Radisson Blue gave us endless beautiful backdrops in Mia and Kevin’s images.   Here take a look!

The wedding reception was held in the historic Halle Suite which has amazing light (there we go again with the light!) named because it regularly hosted the famous Halle Orchestra. Today it remains a romantic space furnished with inspiring works of art and original artefacts from its fascinating history. Mia, Kevin and their guests enjoyed a delicious wedding breakfast followed by some very well received speeches.

Evening celebrations kick started with the cutting of the most beautiful wedding cake. We counted four tiers. (Mia and Kevin making sure all 160 guests get a slice!)

Then there was a romantic first dance. Now we have used the term ‘romantic first dance’ before for weddings but boy was this one romantic. This was the Halle Suite, Mia was wearing a fairytale bride wedding dress and the first dance was to Beauty and the Beast. Mia got her ‘Belle moment’ of being swirled around a ballroom in a beautiful dress. This meant that Kevin was cast as ‘the beast’ but definitely after he’d transformed back into a handsome prince. It was one of our favourite moments in the day. Here, take a look!

After the first dance Mia and Kevin were not alone on the dancefloor for long. This family friendly wedding had some younger guests you were keen to throw some moves and it wasn’t long before the dancefloor was packed with the grown up guests joining them. And it was the image of everyone on the dancefloor that was our cue to take our last image and leave.

Ask any Manchester wedding photographer and they will tell you that Radisson Blu weddings Manchester never fail to deliver.

An elegant, fairytale, family friendly wedding full of love. Congratulations to Mia and Kevin for getting married and creating a fantastic wedding for yourselves, your family and your friends to remember.
