A stylish barn wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn
Telling the story of Nichola & Chris’s day at Sandhole Oak Barn is a pleasure, the day started off at the home they share together and with the arrival of Matilda putting the wedding back 12 months she couldn’t wait to show mum who was going to be the centre of attention for the rest of the day. She looked such an angel dressed as a flower girl. During the preparations there were laughs & tears of joy as flowers arrived, makeup got done and the reality that it was all happening set in.
Here come the boys arriving at Sandhole Oak Barn
We headed off to see the boys about an hour before the ceremony, this is always a fun party of the day as Chris’s friends take it upon themselves to calm their groom it makes for some fantastic natural moments of the guys just being guys. The barn looked amazing as always, Nichola had chosen a natural cream colour for the chair covers and petals and candles for the aisle which suits the barn perfectly
Arriving in style at Sandhole Oak Barn
The ceremony was very emotional as Chris couldn’t contain himself even before Nichola arrived which makes for some great moments for us. It’s so lovely to see such a deep connection between couples and Nichola & Chris are without any doubt made for each other.
One of our favourite moments during the ceremony was when Matilda decided that she wanted to use the aisle as her vantage point to get the best view of mum & dad getting married, this has to be one of our favourite photos and one that will mean the world to Nichola & Chris.
After the ceremony, it was such a lovely day that everyone headed out for photos and to spend time by the lake checking out the wonderful views that Sandhole Oak Barn has to offer. Whilst everyone was enjoying the weather and canapes the venue did an amazing job of transforming the dining area which was a stylish woodland theme with chunky logs and jugs of flowers, which suited the venue perfectly.
Wedding celebrations at Sandhole Oak Barn
The speeches are always one of our favourite parts of the day and create some great moments to photograph and Chris and his party didn’t disappoint us. It’s usually the bride that gets emotional during the speeches but on this occasion, we have to give the trophy to the Groom and his Best Man to share between them, it wasn’t the beer flowing it was the tears and so lovely to see.
Dancing the night away at Sandhole Oak Barn
After dinner, it was back out to the gardens to share a little song and dance for their friends and family and Chris did try to catch peanuts in his mouth which was hard to capture on camera but we gave it a go. The fabulous John Norcott did the entertaining and sung their 1st Dance which is such an honour for any entertainer and he did a great job.
A very special wedding venue
We have to wish this amazing couple all the happiness in the world as you are both such an amazing couple and we would do it all again in a heartbeat.
Thank you so much for choosing us as your photographers and we hope that the memories we capture you will look back on and smile with a warm heart.
