Lauren + Michael's Intimate Heron House Wedding
An Intimate City Centre Wedding
Having a small intimate ceremony appeals to most couples but they get swept along with the excitement of the wedding and it then turns into a big affair. Sticking to their plans Lauren + Michael only wanted the family and not even a photo, until sister Lizzie came to the rescue and booked us as a surprise. Heron House is a registry office in the centre of Manchester, near the Town Hall so it’s in a great location. It has a waiting area for guests and a lovely room that can fit around 50 people at a push I’m sure.
The Ceremony
Walking your daughter down the aisle is one of the most special moments for a father and Lauren looked a picture when she entered the room, a little nervous beforehand but they did an amazing job. Michael was waiting, with his mum and Lauren’s mum at the bottom of the aisle then the registrar began the short service and after about 15mins they were married.
Timing Is Everything
Booking a photographer you need to think about what you want capturing and what’s important, as the coupled didn’t really want photos Lizzie booked us for just an hour to capture as much as we could in a documentary style, not getting to close and just shooting what happened. Then the other 30mins we decided to follow them to Great John Street Hotel where they would have a few groups photos and some bridal portraits before heading off for their afternoon tea.
We hope you enjoy this little preview of their day, it was a big day for them but just a small ceremony and it was wonderful to capture and do something different. We hope you enjoy a little look through their photos.
