It was lovely capturing Sophie and Glenn’s Chester engagement shoot. We met up on an overcast but dry day in October and started our photoshoot in Chester’s Roman gardens.
For engagement photography, it’s always a good idea to choose a location that is familiar and special to you as a couple as you relax in familiar surroundings and are quicker to forget about the camera and just enjoy one another’s company.
I say one another but there was a third party in attendance who was in danger of being a bit of show stealer and that was Sophie and Glenn’s gorgeous new puppy.

Some couples choose to have engagement photography as they say that they feel uncomfortable being photographed or that they never like pictures of themselves. It’s a chance for couples to get used being photographed before their wedding and if they need it, we can give them tips to help them to be more comfortable in front of the camera. So that it won’t be an issue on their wedding day.
Although we chose a quiet time, we had to be patient to get the images of Sophie and Glenn on the tree lined path in the Roman gardens. Though it was worth the wait, here take a look!
Storytelling engagement photography in Chester
There was a point where we had to give in to the puppy’s unbelievable cuteness and get some portrait images of him alone. They’re adorable!
We then got some lovely images of Sophie and Glenn in the bandstand before heading to the river and the iconic Queens Park Bridge for some more images. We then headed into a clearing in some trees to capture some romantic portraits of Sophie and Glenn.
Many of our previous engagement photography images are used by couples in their wedding stationery like invitations, guest books and thank you cards. Talking of wedding days, Sophie and Glenn are getting married in Ireland where Sophie’s family are based.

We ended with some lovely images of Sophie and Glenn walking the puppy hand in hand with one another. For this we used paparazzi style images, setting ourselves back to create images that looked so natural and authentic.
