We can’t believe it’s only been a few days since Rachael + Matthew’s big day, and we have to say it was a perfect day. It was only a week ago that we meet with Rachael + Matt at the pub to discuss the final run of the day and have a quick catch-up. We love working with couples right up to the week before, it gives us a real insight into how they want the day to run and how we can help photograph their story in a way that suits them.

On arriving at Styal Lodge on the morning of the wedding it was clear that everyone had everything under control, everyone was looking wonderful and it was calm and relaxed, just as Rachael wanted.

The boys arrived around 1 pm and we had a bit of fun in front of the venue, Matt’s friends were all up for a good laugh so that makes photographing them all a lot of fun as you will see in the photos after they’ve had a few drinks further down the blog.

The ceremony was stunning, with the couple writing their own vows, that always gets to us – a photographer with watery eyes is not a good idea so I always try to hold it in lol.

The food was fantastic and Pink Pepper Catering is always a delight, making sure that the couple was given their canapé’s as most couples do forget to eat.

After dinner it was off to the lake in the golf buggy which is always good fun, the couple were brave enough to allow us to try out the Smoke Grenades, we thought orange and blue would look great against the green growth around the lake… we were really pleased with the results.

Well, that’s the day drawing to a close for us and it was time for the 1st dance which was beautifully played & sung by Adam Duffill, one of Matt’s friends.
